WHAT ARE THEY?

EVEN NUMBERS end in
0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.

They can be divided into 2 equal groups with no remainder.

ODD NUMBERS end in
1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.

They cannot be divided into 2 equal groups.

Look at the ones digit to find out!

EVEN NUMBERS
0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, ...
Examples:

These 6 apples can be divided into 2 equal groups.

ODD NUMBERS
1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, ...
Examples:

These 5 apples cannot be divided into 2 equal groups.

Look at the ones digit (the last digit).
